A Bolton based forecourt has become one of the first in Lancashire to be awarded a gold standard health and safety site award.
Little Lever Filling Station on Church Street in Bolton was recently awarded a gold health and safety award after passing an audit with flying colours. Inspectors from Suresite Group, leading experts in forecourt compliance, awarded the site their gold standard in health and safety on the forecourt.
Iqbal Patel, Store Manager, said: “We’re very proud to know that our hard work has been recognised and now our customers will know that we are committed to ensuring we operate in a safe environment.”
“I’d like to thank Steve and the rest of the team at Suresite for helping us achieve our gold award. It’s been a pleasure working with them.”
The scheme which was rolled out last year by Suresite Group aims to help recognise and celebrate forecourts who are committed to improving health and safety at their sites.
Steve Clark, Health and Safety Manager at Suresite Group, said: “As one of the first pioneers of health and safety in the forecourt, we’ve stayed committed towards maintaining this vision. A part of that journey is being able to help celebrate the achievement of site operators who successfully implement our industry standard guidelines.
“It’s a great achievement and something that Iqbal and the rest of the team at Little Lever can truly be proud of.”
Window badges are awarded at the assessors’ discretion and sites will be required to demonstrate they are committed to continual improvement.
