Health and wellbeing in the workplace

A recent report from the Health and Safety Executive showed an estimated 1.3 million people in 2015/16 were suffering from an illness they believed was caused, or made worse, by work. The impact of this on a business’s productivity is well documented, with a Labour Force Survey reporting that the total number of working days lost due to stress alone in 2015/16 was 11.7 million.

The Suresite Group is working with private healthcare provider, Westfield Health on a new Mindfulness programme designed to improve the health and wellbeing of their staff.

One of the first topics to be covered in the programme is the importance of a good night’s sleep.

Sleep well, work well

A good night’s sleep is fundamental to ensuring our employees reach their full potential and this month’s campaign is designed to help individuals achieve this.  A number of communications have been circulated around the business providing useful exercises and tips.

Pyjama day – Friday 6th April

Never missing an opportunity to embrace company initiatives and raise some cash for local charities, the staff at Suresite will be helping to raise awareness of poor sleep on Friday 6th April by working in their pyjamas!

Poor sleep can also increase risks associated with chronic conditions such as heart disease, dementia and mental health so the staff at Suresite will also be raising funds during the day, for local charity Bolton Dementia Support
