Interchange Scheme: Important Visa Debit Fee Changes

03 August 2016

Visa, as part of removing the 1p (CBDIP) from Visa Debit, will also be removing the current cap of 50p per transaction for large Visa Debit transactions. The whole transaction will be charged at 0.2% from September 1st 2016.

If you process large transactions of over £250 on Visa debit cards, this will increase your Visa Debit card charges considerably*

This has been introduced by Visa UK across all schemes, and unfortunately there is no way of avoiding these charges.

*Example: From September 1st 2016, a £600 transaction at 0.2% will be charged at £1.20, instead of £0.50 currently.
