Charity Giving: A Soldier’s Journey

11 January 2016

Each year we make a donation to a worthy cause using the money saved by sending our Christmas Card electronically rather than by post. We asked our team to put forward a suggested charity to receive this donation and A Soldier’s Journey was chosen for Christmas 2015.

The charity, put forward by Card Services team member Becky Boardman, was set up by Sergeant Rick Clement of The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment after he suffered life changing injuries in Afghanistan.

The charity works hard to provide vital guidance and support to both serving and ex-serving members of the Armed Forces across a number of areas, including: providing assistance to homeless veterans, advising those suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and helping with the rehabilitation of those injured in service.

The final donation saving came to £800, and we have contributed to this figure to reach a total of £1000. We hope this donation will help towards A Soldier’s Journey’s fantastic work and will help those who need it most.

You can find out more about the charity on their website here.
